Share What You Enjoy

I love the Memories feature of Facebook. It's a major part of the platform's stickiness, and I also appreciate that iOS incorporated a similar feature now for Photos. I often regret that so much of what I write is shared just to a social media platform, though. Today Memories reminded of this lovely day from one year ago, so I decided to free it from the walled garden.

I’ve shared a couple quotes recently from Name of the Wind as I read through it again. Then today at Methodical Coffee, a barista says, “You know what, I’m pretty sure I first met you in Barnes & Noble years ago, and you recommended Name of the Wind to my husband. It’s become his favorite book, multiple times read through.” Amazing coincidence! I told her I was actually in the middle of rereading it, and it made me happy that someone else had enjoyed it.

Then this evening while reading it at The Community Tap, another stranger asked me what I was reading. Turns out she also loves the book and had suspected that was the title. Struck by lightning, twice in a day!

After enjoying a gifted meal from a Chinese food truck, a local rock star (guitarist for Hardy) gifted me a brewski from his personal stash in the back (Hitachino Nest Red Rice Ale) because he loves it and just wanted to share. I’ve now enjoyed it (while finishing my book) and have already recommended it to a friend. Today I’m reminded it’s good to share what you enjoy.

Makes life a lot more fun. 😊
